For 2026, Luzon (Lot 1) will see 1,000 MW of ground-mounted solar, 1,040 MW of floating solar, and 320 MW of onshore wind, alongside 50 MW of IRESS projects. By 2029, Mindanao (Lot 12) is slated for 200 MW of onshore wind and 120 MW of ground-mounted solar, with 100 MW of IRESS capacity.
The project, which will deliver 3,500 MWp of solar and 4,500 MWh of battery energy storage capacity, is a critical step in meeting the country’s goal of 35% renewable energy share by 2030, and 50% by 2040.
The competitive round will offer 9,378 MW of capacity from ground-mounted and rooftop solar and floating photovoltaic (PV) projects, as well as onshore wind schemes, to be installed between 2026 and 2029. The tender will target capacity deployments in different regions, with Luzon getting the largest share.
As of end-March 2025, the project has reached 35% overall progress. Once completed, MTerra Solar will supply 850 MW of mid-merit renewable energy to Meralco under a Power Supply Agreement.
The auction includes a diverse mix of renewable technologies—ground-mounted solar, roof-mounted solar, floating solar, and onshore wind—spanning installation targets from 2026 to 2029 across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
