The highest awarded subsidy came at €58773/MW/year and refers to a 7.9 MW/31.6 MWh project located in the same region. Greek firm Hellenic Renewables, which is a subsidiary of Helleniq Energy, offered the lowest successful bids for two battery projects of 25 MW/100 MWh each.
Greece’s new solar-plus-storage scheme has a €200 million budget, which stems from the country’s post-pandemic recovery plan. Of this, €35 million of funds are for vulnerable households facing energy poverty.
The rest of the list comprises Amber Energy (18 MW), Plain Solar (7.9 MW), Enercoplan (25 MW), Arkadia Storage (10 MW), Heliothema (10 MW) and Ardassa Energy (18 MW). The facilities will be installed in the Western Macedonia region in northern Greece and in the municipalities of Megalopolis, Tripoli, Gortynia and Oichalia in the Peloponnese region.
The new scheme can cover between 20% to 65% of PV system costs, depending on the subsidy pot. For batteries, the first two subsidy pots will cover 100% of battery purchases and installation. The third and fourth subsidy pots will cover 90% of the battery costs.
