The first network storage facility in Hungary was installed by E.On in 2018 followed shortly by Alteo with 3.92 MWh and ELMŰ (Innogy) with 6 MWh (6 MW + 8 MW capacity). Currently, the total capacity of the storage units applied in the primary Hungarian regulatory market is 28 MW.
Hungary is focusing on in-creasing its renewable production mainly through the deployment of solar PV. The installed capacity of solar PV surpassed 5.000 MW and is planned to increase up to around 12.000 MW until 2030 (based on the NECP targets). Installed wind capacity is expected to increase from the current 330 MW to 1000 MW.
